iPad Top 10

Here is the list of my Top 10 great iPad games for women that I am currently playing. Check out this page from time to time as this list will be changing as I master each new game and move on to the next.

Fruit Ninja home screen10. Fruit Ninja

When I first observed my 6 year old playing this game, I thought it was extremely weird – until I tried it out myself. Fruit Ninja is surprisingly addictive for such a simple game. You score points by slicing in half a wide range of differently valued fruit which are flung across the screen, by swiping at them using one or more fingers, until either your time runs out or you hit a bomb, depending on what mode you are in. If you watch someone play this game, it may seem mindless, but it’s amazing how long you can play without getting bored, all in pursuit of achieving a higher score. Featuring brightly coloured graphics and smooth gameplay (unless you press too hard or use too many fingers which causes you to wipe the game right off the screen), Fruit Ninja comes in three modes – Classic, Zen and Arcade. Available for iPad, iPhone, iPod, Android and Windows Phone.

Hospital Haste homescreen9. Hospital Haste HD

Time management and strategy games were made for iPad! That’s because it’s much easier and quicker to “tap” rather than “click”. Hospital Haste is heaps of fun and is one of those games that you just can’t put down. The aim of the game is to help Nurse Sally to diagnose and treat a range of different patients as they appear in her emergency room. With 5 hospitals to choose from in locations all over the world, you need to earn enough credits to buy upgrades which will help make your job easier and enable you to reach higher levels.

Osmos homescreen8. Osmos HD

Caution! This game will lead to serious neglect of all household chores, kids, pets, spouses and any other responsibilities you may have! Based on the physics of spheres, Osmos is extremely challenging, addictive and fun and is perfectly suited to the iPad’s interface. The aim of the game is to propel your sphere to becoming the largest on the screen by absorbing sphere’s that are smaller than you. You move your sphere around by tapping in the opposite direction to where you need to go which causes matter to be ejected from your sphere thus propelling you forward. It has two game modes – Odyssey and Arcade – with 72 levels in all for you to master. Featuring beautiful graphics and fantastic electronic music, this is definitely one for those who love a challenge!

Munchies' Lunch home screen7. Munchies’ Lunch HD

Munchie’s Lunch is a very simple, yet challenging puzzle game that is great fun to play and really gets your brain cells working. The aim of the game is to help Mrs Munchie gather food for her children and avoid running into the Hungries who have invaded their forest dwelling and kidnapped Mr Munchie. Using simple left, right, up and down movements, you need to think strategically to grab the food before the Hungries do, all while avoiding being eaten by them yourself. I’ve had to repeat many of the levels to get a “perfect” score which only adds to the enjoyment. Featuring 100 levels, divided into 4 chapters, Munchie’s Lunch is great for the whole family.

Duckers home screen4. Duckers

Oh my! What a cute game. A huge hit with my 6-year old, Duckers is one of my favourites too. The aim of the game is to propel duckers and friends beneath the earth on an elaborate treasure hunt as you dig for gold, treasure, gems and a host of collectible “artefacts” from dinosaur fossils to skateboards. It’s delightfully simple, just swipe your finger from your ducker to where you want it to go and start collecting the loot. As you dive deeper and deeper, you pass between caverns strewn with gems to collect and spiked monsters to avoid. Watch out for tunnelling critters, shifting spikes, laser blasts and electrical currents, all of which will end your life and foil your attempts at reaching a high score. Fun, colourful and engaging, Duckers is a keeper.
